What happens after a break up?

There are several things that happen after a break up:

  • 1)    Dealing with insecurity. You don’t know what to do, so you have to figure out the next things in your life.
  • 2)    Making a decision. Yes, there is a decision that needs to be made – a decision to move forward. This decision might need some additional thought about strategies and tactics for your new life.
  • 3)    Fixing your self-esteem. It is absolutely necessary because your break up might have either damaged it or completely destroyed it. You have to remember, that even if you made some mistakes, you are still a beautiful person with a great soul and heart who deserves the best in your own life.
  • 4)    Understanding that this is just a break up but not the end of your life or your world (even if you spent 20 years together). It is all in your head. If you treat a break up like a new beginning, it will become this way.
  • 5)    Remembering that there is a life outside of your break up. You have to maintain other parts of your life and not let your break up ruin all other areas of your life.

You will see a lot of new opportunities after your break up even though it sounds like a joke at this moment. Now, it’s time to live for yourself and to do everything you’ve always dreamed of doing, but never had time.

It’s time to see the word, to make new friends, to learn how to ride horses/dance salsa/sky dive/knit socks for your cat/speak Japanese/write a book – whatever you felt was an unnecessary waste of time while you were in a relationship, will be a great and smart thing to do for yourself.

If you didn’t have time while you were in a relationship to do all those things that you have always wanted to do because you were too busy taking care of “your loved one”, then your relationship wasn’t good for you anyways. All relationships are a two ways road.

One thing I would like to assure you is that there is a LIFE after a break up and this life can be full of excitement, happiness, and miracles if you let them in.
