Date My Ex
“Should I date my ex again?” This question has been asked by every person with a broken heart at least once.
From one side, it sounds very tempting because you remember how much fun you used to have when you were together. However, from another side you really doubt if dating your ex would be a great idea. He (she) is your ex for a reason. Either he (she) dumped you cruelly, or you dumped him (her). There can be one more possible scenario. We are talking about the situation when feelings have been gone for a long time and you both are bored out of your mind.

From the age a person enters a high school (sometimes middle school), it is very hard to change his (her) personality. Therefore, if someone did something once, he (she) will do it again. Playing Russian Roulette is less dangerous than resuming relationships with your ex. Dating your ex girlfriend or dating your ex boyfriend is a direct way of being hurt again. If someone did something to you once, he (she) will do it again.
If you are still in love with your ex, then dating him (her) will not do you any good. You will be too sensitive because memories will be too fresh and feelings will be too strong. If you don’t love your ex anymore, what’s the point of getting back together?
“I want to date my ex!” is a very common desire and it’s normal as well as a question how to get your ex back. However, every time you feel that way, just remember the way he (she) destroyed your happy life and broke your heart. Let your broken heart be a constant reminder to stay away from your ex.
- Date My Ex – What if you dumped your ex (Situation #2)?
If you were the one who did the dumping, then…there was a reason for this. If you were totally happy with your ex, then why would you dump him (her)? Of course, there is a chance that you made a mistake. For example, you fell for someone else, and then you realized that your ex is much better. Guess what? Dating your ex in this situation is totally wrong because if you dumped him (her) once, then you will most likely do it again. There are always exceptions though.
As much as your inner voice screams “I want to date my ex!” try to ignore it. Everything happens for a reason. Even if you ex will seem absolutely happy about getting back together, it does not mean that he (she) really feels that way. Rejection hurts. Many times, people use the possibility to date their exes as a great opportunity to get even. Therefore, if your ex smiles happily in your face, it does not matter that he (she) is not planning on dumping you in a very cruel and humiliating way.
The definition of “ex” is here for a reason. This word represents your past. Your future is in the future and not in the past. Think about it.
- Date My Ex – What if you got bored with your ex (Situation #3)?
“Should I date my ex if nobody dumped anybody and we just got bored of being together?” I believe that this question is pretty self-explanatory. If you were so bored with each other, what could possibly change after the break up? Did you become a different person? Did your ex become a different person? Possibly, if your break up happened ten years ago and you don’t have a broken heart. Dating an ex boyfriend who was plain as a bagel without cream cheese only because there is nobody else in the picture or because “it seems secure” is not really a good idea. Dating an ex girlfriend who did not excite you back then will be…a straight road to another break up.
Dating your ex is your own decision. It will be painful to refuse if you were dumped, and this is the only chance to be with your ex who you still love. It will be tempting to try again if you dumped him (her), but new relationships did not work out either. It would also be secure to get back if nobody dumped anybody; you just got bored.
However, life is not about going backwards, but about moving forward and wasting your time on the “Date My Ex” situation might prevent you from meeting your true and real love.
